Aluminium Powder is produced by spraying a mist of molten aluminium which solidifies as fine spherical or near-spherical particles. Toyo Aluminium uses the most advanced atomization techniques, which include a control system that maintains uniform particle size and can be varied to suit each individual application. The range of applications for aluminium powders is broadening as their functionality is enhanced by allowing and by the rapid-cooling solidification process. Today, aluminium powders are used in powder metallurgy and in the production of refractories, catalysts and rocket fuels.

Application in paints, in printing ink and in explosives

Aluminium paste is made principally of high purity aluminium powder or foil, pulverized and ground into extremely thin flakes. They are used as aluminium pigments. Because control over the flake shape and particle size of our pastes are precisely controlled and the flake surfaces are uniformly coated with fatty acid, they distribute evenly inside coating layer. They thus form an effective barrier to gases, moisture and light, protecting the coated object from corrosion. Because of these qualities and because of the artistic appearance obtainable with these pastes, they are ideal for use as pigments in coatings and printing inks. Moreover, they are highly weatherproof, spread well and are therefore economical, lightweight and safe to use.
