Transport

ALPASTE is classified as Class-2 hazardous material and designated as inflammables (inflammable solids) under Fire Service Act, and it should be transported paying attention to the cautions mentioned below

  • Cover the container with suitable material for keeping out direct sunshine, rain drops, etc.
  • Prepare proper fire fighting equipment and put up the signs in course of transport in accordance with corresponding regulations specified by Fire Service Act and/or other acts.

Measures against fire

Care should be taken to the following points in case of fire or other accident unintentionally happened. Because the fire caused to ALPASTE begins with the solvent, it is required to extinguish the fire of solvent first of all. It is also required to avoid using the fire extinguishing agent which may react with aluminium.

  • Strictly avoid pouring water.
  • The carbonic acid gas or powder extinguisher can be used for initial state of solvent fire, but try to use the suffocation extinguishing measure(3.) to secure safety.
  • When the solvent has been burnt up and aluminium powders are burning, try the suffocation extinguishing with use of incombustible fiber cloth or dry sands. Be careful not to raise a cloud of powder dust by no means.
  • The foam extinguisher or the extinguisher including halogenated chemical is strictly prohibited because it is apt to react with aluminium.
