Announcement on Participation
in the UN Global Compact

Toyo Aluminium K.K. declares that it will participate in the Global Compact advocated for by the United Nations (UN), and announces that it has been registered as a participating company as of April 10, 2018.
The Toyo Aluminium Group has set forth the realization of “Create the future, I will create it” (our Action Policy), and contribution to creating a sustainable society, as our vision for CSR activities. Our participation in the UN Global Compact will contribute to building a sustainable society through responsible management as a global corporation, as well as proactive CSR activities across the Group, in line with the Ten Principles of UN Global Compact related to Human Rights, Labour, Environment, and Anti-Corruption.

Rights

Principle 1: Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights;and

Principle 2: make sure that they are not complicit in human rights abuses

Principle 4: the elimination of all forms of forced and compulsory labour;

Principle 5: the effective abolition of child labour; and

Principle 6: the elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation

Principle 7: Businesses are asked to support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;

Principle 8: undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility; and

Principle 9: encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies

Corruption

Principle 10: Businesses should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery
