Basic CSR policy

We in the Toyal Group aim to build a corporate culture that allows us to continuously improve our sound business activities.To that end, we will develop management that can contribute to society by (i) developing corporate activities that are compliant with social norms and corporate ethics, (ii) providing product quality that allows customers to use our products with peace of mind, (iii) conducting business activities in harmony with the environment and (iv) conducting activities that place the utmost priority on occupational health and safety in the workplace.

CSR charter

We in the Toyal Group will widely contribute to society by providing products and services centering on the aluminium foil business, the aluminium powder and paste business, the solar cell business and the daily necessity goods business. To that end, aiming to build a corporate culture that allows us to continuously improve our sound business activities, we will act in accordance with the following seven principles.

  • Compliance with laws and regulations
    We will comply with the relevant laws and regulations, and engage in activities that conform to social norms and corporate ethics.
  • Customer and consumer satisfaction and trust
    We will accurately understand the needs of society, develop socially useful products and services, offer them, and ensure customer and consumer satisfaction and win their trust.
  • Relationship with society
    To communicate with society at large, we will properly disclose corporate information, and thoroughly protect and manage the information including the personal information and customer information. In our business activities, we will engage in fair and free competition. In addition, we will work to build good relations with the local community and actively contribute to society as a good corporate citizen.
  • Achieving employee comfort and prosperity
    As a company that values people, we will respect people’s personalities and individuality, secure a work environment that is easy to work in and that places health and safety first, and strive to achieve employee comfort and prosperity.
  • Cooperation with the international community
    As a global company, we will comply with international rules and local laws including the ones related to human rights, while respecting local cultures and customs.
  • Efforts for the environment
    We will be aware that environmental initiatives are a mandatory requirement for a company's existence and its activities, and through harmonizing with the environment we will make continued efforts to build a sustainable society.
  • Making the charter known to all
    Top management will fully understand the spirit of the charter, and take the initiative in having it thoroughly permeate within the Company while ensuring that those concerned know about it.

    Based on the belief that “safety comes first,” we will implement occupational health and safety activities based on the following policy in order to build a workplace environment where all employees can work with peace of mind.

    Policy

    1. We will ensure that all employees of Toyo Aluminium comply with laws and regulations related to occupational health and safety.
    2. We will appropriately allocate the management resources necessary for safety and health activities and make continuous improvements.
    3. We will work to prevent injuries and illnesses and create an environment and opportunities that protect the mental and physical health of employees.
    4. We will strive to improve occupational health and safety management and performance through regular safety inspections.
    5. We will promote sustainable corporate activities by raising the level of safety awareness and preventing serious accidents.

    With the recognition that the Toyal Group needs to contribute to society through business activities in harmony with the environment, we will maintain an understanding of the relationship between our business activities and the environment, strive to protect the environment in accordance with the precautionary principle, and disclose information to our stakeholders. We will also strive to realize a truly prosperous society as a sensible corporate citizen by developing environmentally friendly products.

    1. In the spirit of treating things with care, we will promote energy and resource conservation, and recycling.
    2. We will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society by developing environmentally friendly technologies and products.
    3. We will strive to prevent air and water pollution and health hazards by reducing the environmental impact of our business activities and properly managing chemical substances.
    4. We will comply with environmental laws and regulations as well as agreements with stakeholders.
    5. We will educate employees in terms of environmental conservation so that each employee can conduct activities to preserve the environment with an awareness of the importance of environmental issues.
    6. We will work to reduce greenhouse gas emissions as a measure to fight against climate change.
    7. We will maintain an understanding of the relationship between nature (biodiversity, forests, oceans, etc.) and our business activities, and will work to protect and restore nature.

    We will continue to provide products and services that meet the needs and expectations of our customers by conducting honest and fair business.

    Policy

    1. Cultural transformation in quality:Based on our quality motto, “Be honest, work honest,” we will shift to a culture of “Quality. Built by Everyone!”
    2. Challenge, coordination, and collaboration:With a correct understanding of information concerning legal requirements, quality assurance requirements and procedures, and quality standards that we have also shared with our fellow employees, we will move forward with the development of mechanisms for finding hidden issues and correcting them. In addition, we will coordinate and collaborate with each business group and functional section, implementing QMS and actively leveraging human resources and digital technology.
    3. Firmly establishing preventative activities:In each department, we thoroughly adhere to the 5G Methodology (Genba: the actual place, Genbutsu: the actual goods, Genjitsu: the actual situation, Genri: scientific principles, and Gensoku: standards and rules). We will ensure quality and safety by firmly establishing activities to prevent any issues from occurring.

  • Basic philosophy

    The Toyal Group has formulated and implemented a basic policy on information security in order to protect the confidentiality and integrity of all the information assets of stakeholders, and to enable the utilization of those assets in line with advances in information technology in order to contribute to the continuous and stable operation of business by the Group.

    Policy

    1. We will comply with the various laws and regulations concerning information security, national guidelines and other regulatory standards established by the government, and contractual requirements agreed upon with customers and business partners.
    2. We will work to protect and manage information assets and maintain and improve information security by establishing an information security management system and an emergency response system for security incidents, as well as by assigning persons to be responsible for information security to construct an information security promotion system.
    3. We will take appropriate measures against anticipated information security threats and strive to prevent information security incidents from occurring. In the unlikely event of an information security incident, we will promptly respond to prevent the spread of damage and take measures to prevent recurrence.
    4. We will make all employees aware of the importance of information security, raise awareness of their responsibilities, and give the necessary education and training for the proper use and management of information assets. We will also make efforts to raise the awareness of business contractors as necessary.
    5. In addition to maintaining information security initiatives, in order to respond to new social demands and risks arising due to changes in the business environment and social conditions, we will periodically evaluate our information security management system and the implementation status of the measures we take, as well as continuously improve their appropriateness, validity, and effectiveness.

    The Toyal Group is committed to building a corporate culture in which we are trusted by stakeholders as a good corporate citizen that respects corporate ethics and sustainability while complying with laws and social norms.

    Policy

    1. We will raise the awareness of all officers and employees through compliance education and training.
    2. We will continuously identify and evaluate legal and compliance risks and implement the appropriate measures.
    3. We will create a psychologically safe workplace environment, detect and prevent misconduct, and maintain sound corporate activities by disseminating information regarding and promoting the use of our compliance consultation line.
